On May 10th we celebrated the 40th opening of Toe River Crafts. Our members and guests gathered around and in the shop sharing stories and memories and making new ones. We had snacks, champagne punch, live music and plants for sale.
Sarah Henson, local songstress, was our entertainment. She played guitar and banjo and sang a array of folks songs.
Jim Stockwell, a local farmer, was on hand with a variety of plant starts and his delicious fresh eggs for sale.
We're excited to welcome all visitors for this 40th season. Our current hours are Fri - Sat: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, Sun: 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm. If you find yourself down Hwy 80S, stop in and see our new works.
It's that time once again!!! It's our annual Garden Show!!! We will have a reception on May 25th from 3-5 pm with refreshments!! We will also be selling plants on the porch on May 25th and 26th!! It should be a really nice day for this!! This is a free event so come one come all!!! We are located on HIghway 80 S. in Celo!!! We will have our flag out as well as our open sign!!! See you there!!

Toe River Crafts is gearing up for the 2013 season on Friday May 3rd for their 39th year. The shop had it's annual workday/jurying on April 6, we had a rather productive morning getting the shop ready for opening day including putting on a new roof! This took most of the morning and we would like to thank Bob Early and Kevin Freeman for helping us, we could't have done it with out you. We would also like to welcome Linda Giles and her knitted creations to the shop(these are some of her hats). Her hats, scarfs, and shawls will be a welcome addition to the shop.
On Friday May 25th the craft will once again be hosting our annual Garden Show. This show is really fun for us, we will have plants, herbs, and vegetable plants for sale as well as garden themed works from our members. The opening reception will be held on May 25th from 3-5pm. The show will be up through Memorial Day weekend, Friday May 25th- Monday May 27th, it will remain up through the month of June. Local farmers and florists will be contributing to this years Garden Show, Pat Thibodeaux will have perennials for sale, Joe Hollis will be selling local herbs, and Jim Stockwell will have vegetable plants. Refreshments will be provided. This event is free and open to the public, all are encouraged to come.

On April 14th, the Toe River Craft shop had its annual clean up as well as its April jurying of new members work into the shop. There was lots of really beautiful work that was juried into the shop this year. There were eight new members that were juried into the shop this year, and we gained two new working members! Welcome Mariel Williams and Isa Solen as our newest working members. Also welcoming new consignment members; Ronna Strielaeff, Steve Buettner, Kate Adams, Judith Ann Scheckel, Joyce Johnson(already a working member), and Hayden Wilson. We are glad to have these wonderful artists's work in our shop. The first day of the new season at the craft shop is May 4th. Mark your calenders! It should be a terrific year.
